The Watson Memorial Home is an incorporated nonprofit organization and is registered as a Personal Care Home in Pennsylvania. We are Christian based and non denominational. A board of directors assists the home’s current Administrator Mrs. Lynne Parker, with the financial, building and grounds, in-house and admission decisions. There is no minimum financial requirement for admission to the home. Applicants are screened for physical and psychological stability. When their application has been accepted, their assets are turned over to the home and they are guaranteed care for the rest of their lives.
The Watson Home’s “lifetime guarantee” includes a private room with 1/2 bath to which a dedicated staff provides weekly housekeeping and laundry services.
An in-house doctor and a full professional staff of registered and licensed practical nurses and nurse’s aides tend to medical needs. A 6-bed infirmary is on premises for those temporary illnesses that do not require hospitalization. If outside care is wanted or needed, transportation to and from the appointments is provided. All of these needs, including any hospital stays and subsequent nursing home placements are the financial responsibility of The Watson Memorial Home. We also take on the responsibility of funeral and burial preparation in full compliance with our resident’s wishes.
A bookkeeper is available to help the residents with any financial needs they may have including bill paying, check book reconciliation and trips to do their banking for them if they desire. Residents are also provided with a monthly “allowance”.
Residents can welcome guests at anytime in their rooms or any of the 3 lovely parlors or when weather permits, on the scenic screened in sun porch. Guests are also welcome to join us for activities or meals as well. Out of town guests are also welcome to access our lovely furnished apartment for a minimal fee.
We take pride in our lovely home and invite everyone in the community to come and view the great treasure Caroline Watson left to our community.
